The KISSsoft System Module within the KISSsoft® Release 2026 introduces the interface REXS (Reusable Engineering Exchange Standard), an industry-wide standard developed by the FVA research association for software-neutral gearbox data exchange. Compatible with REXS version 1.7, the implementation makes engineering workflows more flexible.
The interface enables the exchange of gearbox system definitions, including cylindrical, bevel, planetary, and worm gears, as well as shafts, bearings, and external loads. Using the standardized XML format, the complete kinematic structure and gearbox topology can be imported into or exported from the KISSsoft System Module. By enabling seamless data exchange with MBS, FEM, and other CAE tools, the REXS interface simplifies collaborative engineering, improves workflow integration, and ensures long-term compatibility.
