Contact Analysis for Cylindrical Gears, Bevel Gears and Planetary Systems

This special training about the contact analysis provides the theoretical foundations and calculation possibilities which allow an exact representation of the conditions in the tooth contact and thus permit the design and optimization with regards to noise, transmission error, traverse contact ratio and tooth trace modifications.

The training will take place during three consecutive morning sessions as follows:
December 7, 2021: CET 08:30 am - 12:00 pm (Brussels)
December 8, 2021: CET 08:30 am - 12:00 pm (Brussels)
December 9, 2021: CET 08:30 am - 12:00 pm (Brussels)

The training course is designed for engineers who are already familiar with cylindrical gears and planetary systems and have already completed an advanced training on gear calculation because a good knowledge of geometry and strength calculations is essential for understanding the training contents.

Topics

The first part of the training uses the calculation of the face load factor as an introduction to the more detailed theory of contact pattern calculation. The course explains essential issues such as modeling and stiffness and goes into detail about how to check and interpret the results.

The second part covers special contact analysis topics such as consideration of shaft deformation and planetary gear units. Participants will reinforce what they have learned by using the powerful sizing and optimization functions.
The full schedule is provided in the training program.

Important

Notebook

You will need a notebook to actively participate in the training course. It is advantageous to have 2 screens, but this is not a prerequisite.
Hardware and software requirements

Registration
Registration will close on Friday, December 2, 2021. Before the start of the training, participants will receive a test version, electronic training documentation and an invitation link with information to join the Live Stream training.
