Engineers have direct access to SKF’s bearing technology and bearing performance data with the so-called "SKF Bearing Module" in KISSsoft®. This connection allows for a seamless experience when working on a new gearbox design. Furthermore, the shaft module allows bearing calculations to be performed through the SKF Cloud service based on ISO/TS 16281. In this way, the user can consider the detailed bearing internal geometry that would not be available otherwise. The results, including the stiffness matrix and service life values, can then be transferred to KISSsoft.
Design engineers with a Timken online account can seamlessly perform accurate calculations for Timken rolling bearings directly within KISSsoft.
By integrating Timken's cloud service solution, KISSsoft accesses proprietary, detailed internal macro-geometry data for more than 7,000 Timken tapered, spherical and cylindrical roller bearings as well as deep-groove ball bearings. Running efficiently in the background, this cloud-based service enables highly precise ISO/TS 16281 bearing life calculations without exposing proprietary internal dimensions. An additional cloud service is available for calculating Timken's adjusted catalog life.
This enables engineers to accurately analyze bearing behavior and evaluate performance variations between standard and enhanced bearing calculations, providing greater confidence when designing complex gearbox transmission systems.
