Contact Analysis (LTCA) of Asymmetric Gears

Aug 21, 2019

KISSsoft now also offers contact analysis for asymmetric gears according to Langheinrich's dissertation (module ZA38). This allows, in addition to geometry and strength evaluation, the analysis of asymmetric teeth under load.

Deformation components such as bending, gear body deformation, Hertzian flattening, shaft deflection and bearing deformation are included in the calculation, which can be used for optimizing various gear features such as noise, efficiency, contact temperature and root stress with specifically selected micro-modifications.

Furthermore, the contact analysis in KISSsoft Release 2019 now enables runout errors to be taken into account. The evaluation is enhanced by graphics for iterative wear, LTCA, active diameter under load and much more.

Would you like to learn more about this topic? If so you will find some basic information here. In addition, our developer Benjamin Mahr will give a lecture on the Derivation of tooth stiffness of asymmetric gears for loaded tooth contact analysis on September 20, 2019, at 9.00 a.m. as part of this year's VDI International Conference on Gears. We are looking forward to many listeners as well as visitors at our booth no 3.
