The KISSsoft® System Module enables quick and intuitive modeling of gearboxes and drivetrains. The integrated Sketcher allows for the definition of the systems’ topology as if using pen and paper. Shafts are the basic component of the sketch. Elements like gears, bearings, and connections are positioned on a shaft. A comprehensive element library (element box) supports all common gear types, including cylindrical, bevel and hypoid gears, planetary gears, face gears, beveloid gears, and worm gears, as well as various rolling bearing types and hydrodynamic plain bearings.Complex kinematics, special planetary systems such as Ravigneaux, Simpson or Wilson, and switching matrices for setting gear speeds can be easily defined.Modeling is accelerated by assistants for predefined groups, while the automatic 3D-display allows for a fast spatial arrangement and collision check.
